Let me ask you one thing. Do you truly wish
that just about anyone can contact you anytime they
want? Somebody wise once said something very true and that is
that the more accessible try to be; the more accessible people will
be expecting of you to be. They will in fact be very upset with
you, if you do not make your self instantly accessible for
them.
People such as these (friends,
relatives or the boss) who expect of you to be available to them
around the clock are to say the least irritating. Cell phone
has made it possible for calls to follow you just about anywhere
you go.
Even during bedtime, when you
sleep a cell phone can ring just because someone has dialed the
wrong number. How many times has it happen to you? And naturally at
that time we expect the worst news, you get upset and can forget
about sleep.
In today’s modern society cell
phones are everywhere and people are using them everywhere. However
cell phone etiquette is fast become a thing of the past. You can
see people talking too loud and disturbing people near them, and
that happens everywhere, in restaurants, buses, trains and even
hospitals.
By now I’m sure that you have
noticed that when a cell phone rings, everyone around is going to
check their cell phones just in case it’s them. And how many
times have you spoken to someone and in the middle of the
conversation their cell phone rings and they forget all about you
and talk for minutes with the person on the other side of the line
just like you are not even there.
Not a nice feeling, is it? That’s
just plain rudeness and should be avoided. There are also places
where you should just turn off your cell phone. For example in a
church, just leave your cell in the car or turn it off before
entering. Think about it will not only disturb your prayers but it
is going to disturb the whole church.
It is also polite to turn off
your cell phone or at least the ringing while in the meeting. It is
especially important if you are trying to solve some very important
issues. You can always leave your vibrate alarm on if and when you
are expecting an important call, and when it comes excuse yourself
and leave the room to talk.
Traveling, especially by airplane
is a different matter altogether. Often you’ll be asked to turn off
you’re the cell phone when entering the plane, or just prior to the
take off. You can always use onboard airplane phones to contact
your family in case that it can not wait until you land. Electronic
devices such as cell phones can obstruct the aircraft’s own
electronic equipment. Sometimes however, for example on very
long flights you’ll be allowed a certain cell phone time usage, so
if you really, really must use it, do it then.
Cell phones have become essential
for modern life style, and I as a proud father of a two year
toddler always have it near me, but I also make sure that I do not
bother other people with it. Sure go ahead and be competitive but
always try to keep in mind that rudeness is not a part of trying to
be competitive. Use your common sense and “Do on to others….!” And
you know the rest. Follow cell phone etiquette and that is going to
help you and your business to prosper even more.
The scouts say you should always be prepared. So here are 11 mobile phone numbers you should save now. They may not be useful right now, but at some...
